Modified on Thu, 4 Apr, 2024 at 5:12 PM

Litigators are authorized lawyers to attend the hearings in courts. In this article we will understand how to manage the litigators and their attendance for the hearings.

Adding a Litigator

Navigate to "Master Settings" -> "Judicial Assistants and Litigators" -> "Existing Litigators"

From the main screen as shown above, you can view/search all existing litigators and add/amend them.

It is better to add all the details to filter out the most relevant litigators in CASENGINE, however only few are mandatory as labeled.

You may add a new Litigator using the (+) icon from the top right corner of the screen with the following fields:

  1. Litigator Name (Mandatory): Select the lawyer from the users list, the lawyer must be present in the CASENGINE user list to be selected here. To manage users, please read Manage Users and Permissions
  2. Country (Mandatory): Chose the country for which this litigator is authorized to attend courts. To manage countries please read Countries and Locations
  3. Location (Optional):  Select the location if applicable
  4. Type (Optional): Select Federal or Local depending on the regulations
  5. Judicatures (Optional): Select the applicable judicature/court from the list which the litigator is authorized to attend
  6. Issue Date (Mandatory): Select the issue date of the Litigator's registration card
  7. Expiry Date (Mandatory): Select the expiry date of the Litigator's registration card
  8. Grace Period (Optional): Mention any days upto which the litigators may still attend court even after expiry of his/her registration
  9. Issuing Authority (Optional): Mention the issuing Authority if applicable.
  10. Card Copy Upload (Optional): Upload the card/certificate copy of the registration.
The litigator will only show in the list if mapped to country/location/court etc. and has an active registration to attend courts.
